Red Rock Developments Breaks Ground on Monarch’s Child & Adolescent Facility-Based Crisis Center
Red Rock Developments, along with its project partners; Andujar, General Contractor; Perkins & Will, Architect; Timmons Group, Civil Engineer; and Tripp Commercial, Broker, announces the construction on a build-to-suit 11,654 square feet medical office building. This location situated in Charlotte’s University Area, near Harris Blvd., will be home to Monarch’s Child & Adolescent Facility-Based Crisis Center, which will provide mental health services for children and adolescents in Mecklenburg County. The building will be owned and operated by Monarch.
Established in 1958, Monarch is a not-for-profit organization that provides support statewide to thousands of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders. Through partnerships and relationships with the community, Monarch’s Child & Adolescent Facility-Based Crisis Center will be the first step in life-changing care and treatment for families and children ages 6 to 17 who face a mental health crisis in Mecklenburg County. The Center will provide access to timely, age-appropriate mental health care during a time of crisis.
This 16-bed facility will embrace all Mecklenburg County children and adolescents in need — Medicaid-eligible, uninsured, underinsured, and private pay. The official groundbreaking was hosted in late April and the building is projected to be completed in seven months for a third quarter move-in.
“Monarch is a group that truly is helping dreams to take flight. It has been a real honor to work with Monarch’s executive vice president and chief development officer, who is leading the project for Monarch. Mental health is such a big issue in our society today and to help a company like Monarch expand into Mecklenburg County is a real privilege,” says Leah Barker Bailey, VP of development for Red Rock Developments.
“Daily, we work to impact thousands of lives and there are so many local partners, like Cardinal Innovations Healthcare, and area families who are committed to do whatever it takes to make this facility a reality. Monarch is excited about all the meaningful collaboration surrounding this very important project that will address the tremendous mental health needs for children and adolescents in Mecklenburg County,” says Martin. “We appreciate our partnership with Red Rock Developments and others who are working alongside us to ensure children and youth in this region get the care they need.”
