Alternative Family Living (AFL) settings provide an individual with a unique opportunity learn and grow within a family unit that has been licensed to open their home to an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This provides an opportunity for increased independence as a person becomes part of a new family structure and explores school, work, day program, volunteering and community and family-based activities.
Monarch currently provides AFL in Cabarrus, Forsyth, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Moore, Richmond and Stanly counties.
If you are interested in applying to become an AFL provider with Monarch or would like more information on AFL services, please reach out to our Referral Coordinator at (704) 986-1879 or referrals@monarchnc.org with questions or click here for an application.
