When making major life decisions like choosing a place to live, attend school or work it’s important to get a firsthand feel of the space. Most of us want to visit a location in person to ensure it meets our needs and envision ourselves there for an extended period. However, the global pandemic in 2020 changed the way we approach these decisions.

During the pandemic, many buildings and sites, including Monarch’s, were temporarily closed to visitors, making in-person tours impossible. To provide a safe, easy-to-access solution, Monarch’s Marketing Team partnered with More Than Imaging to create immersive, 3D virtual tours of several key sites. This allowed individuals to explore Monarch’s facilities remotely from the safety of their own homes.

The Importance of Virtual 3D Tours

“We are seeing the benefits of having virtual, 3D tours available to referral providers, families and people we support,” said Monarch’s Senior Community Outreach Manager. “They can view our locations while remaining safe. Even after the pandemic, these virtual tours are an important tool for people we serve, as well as other populations who want to learn more about our services, programs and residential options.”

The Matterport 3D technology used in these tours is similar to Google Street View, offering users the ability to “walk” through building halls and rooms as if they were physically there. Additionally, the tours include helpful information such as brief descriptions of rooms or programs, as well as links to videos or features on Monarch’s services.
