Substance Use Disorder or Addiction

Substance use disorder (SUD) is a complex condition that affects millions. It involves the misuse of or addiction to alcohol, marijuana or street or prescription drugs. Like mental health disorders, SUD has a significant impact on a person’s overall well-being, and its effects can ripple through relationships, work and other aspects of daily life.

Effective treatment for substance use disorder is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It requires a comprehensive plan that can address both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction. Monarch can support those with an SUD identify and address the underlying causes of addiction, and use medications (including suboxone and naltrexone) to support treatment and to relieve cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

Medication Management

Recovery from mental illness and substance use disorders can be supported by the use of medication to lessen symptoms in patients.

Substance Use Disorder and Addiction Services

Monarch offers substance use disorder and addiction treatment designed to help individuals struggling with addiction to alcohol, tobacco, opioids or other substances.

Tailored Care Management

Tailored Care Management is a NC Medicaid service, available by MCO referral for people with mental illness, substance use disorders and/or I/DD.

Community-Based Services – Mental Health

Monarch supports people with mental health needs in a variety of settings such as their own home, at their parent’s home, at school or in the workplace. 

Mental Health Crisis Services

If you’re dealing with a mental health crisis or have an immediate mental health issue, Monarch offers services designed to provide assistance and follow-up support.

Mobile Mental Health Clinic

Monarch’s Mobile Mental Health Clinics serve a six-county area in Northeast North Carolina, providing mental health and addiction services.

Residential Services – Mental Illness
