Cerebral palsy (CP) is a condition that affects movement and muscle coordination. It is caused by an event that changes brain development, usually before or during birth, or in the early years of life. People with cerebral palsy may have difficulty with balance, posture and movement, but with the right support, they can lead active, fulfilling lives.
Supporting adults with cerebral palsy involves helping them with their physical needs, encouraging their independence and promoting social and emotional well-being. Monarch provides different support to adults with cerebral palsy, making sure they have the opportunities they need to live full and happy lives.
Whether you or your loved one with CP needs low, medium or high support, Monarch has programs and services available to encourage independence and self-sufficiency, provide access to education and employment, encourage physical activity and wellness, and foster social connections. Monarch also offers mental health support for those with cerebral palsy and other intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
