Eligibility and Funding

Monarch apartments are funded by:

  • Monthly Rent: The amount is based on the individual’s income and determined by HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development). Approved Monarch applicants must meet HUD eligibility criteria and be approved by HUD before being admitted into an apartment. Monarch staff will assist individuals with this HUD application process.
  • Daily Service Fee: The daily service fee covers staffing and therapeutic services provided in the home. This is authorized through a person’s local Managed Care Organization (MCO) and paid for by the North Carolina Innovations Waiver, North Carolina Medicaid, or state funds. This fee can also be paid privately. The daily service fee varies by individual needs and is subject to change. Please contact us for the current rates.
