Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a genetic condition that causes a constant feeling of hunger, which can lead to overeating and obesity, according to the Prader-Willi Association. People with this syndrome face unique challenges and often need a home designed to meet their special needs.

Monarch operates two group homes that care for adults with Prader-Willi syndrome. These homes have dieticians who work with each person to manage their calorie needs and help them maintain a healthy weight while building a positive self-image. The homes also provide a safe environment where food is controlled to support each person’s dietary plan.

Monarch’s group homes for individuals living with Prader-Willi syndrome were the first of their kind in North Carolina and are located are located in Cabarrus and Stanly counties.
