Monarch receives 2014 Best Practices Award by the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals
Direct support professionals at Monarch work with thousands of individuals every year within their homes, day programs and communities. They are considered to be one of the agency’s most important resources, second only to the people they support.
In 2008, as part of accreditation through The Council on Quality and Leadership, Monarch began using Personal Outcome Measures (POM). POMs help direct support professionals determine the individual goals and interests of the people they support. The results help direct support professionals know which areas they can maximize to better serve people supported, and were an important component in determining the recipient for the award.
This year’s Moving Mountain Best Practices Award winners will be honored during the 2014 Reinventing Quality Conference in Baltimore, Md. Aug. 3-5. Monarch CEO Dr. Peggy Terhune will accept the award on behalf of the agency.
