Monarch Director of Peer Services appointed to Governor’s Brain Injury Advisory Council

“I am honored to have been appointed by N.C. Governor Pat McCrory and I am also anxious to work with the DHHS to help contribute towards the definition of brain injury, studying the needs of persons with brain injury, the coordination of prevention efforts, and making recommendations to the Governor, the General Assembly, and the Secretary of Health and Human Services,” said Tankersley.

Appointments to the Council are made by the Governor, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Senate Pro-Tem, and the Secretaries of the Departments of Health and Human Services, Public Instruction, Insurance, and Administration. Ultimately, appointees will serve four-year terms.

Tankersley is also a member of the State Consumer and Family Advisory Committee (SCFAC) and The N.C. Integrated Care Steering Committee.
