Mental Health America of the South Mountains honors Monarch professionals during annual awards ceremony
The Excellence in Outpatient Services Award was established to recognize a person who has made a significant contribution to mental health services through professional involvement providing outpatient care. Jennifer Greene, MA, LPC, Monarch’s clinical operations manager in Cleveland, Gaston and Lincoln counties and program director for the Lincoln Wellness Center, a collaborative effort of Monarch, Phoenix Counseling Center, Alexander Youth Network and Support Inc. for the Partners catchment area in Lincoln County, received the award.
The evening also included a special drum performance by the Adventure House Players, and a musical performance by Georgiana Wright. The MHA also recognized the Adventure House with a Spotlight on an Agency Award, for their exceptional psychosocial treatment program.
Formerly the Mental Health Association in Cleveland County, Mental Health America of the South Mountains was established in 1962. The MHA is dedicated to the creation and promotion of education, advocacy, and support for individuals and families affected by mental illness. It is the mission of the MHA to work tirelessly to eliminate the stigma of mental illness and create an informed community of citizens who will defend and support the rights of those impacted by mental illness.
Established in 1958, Monarch is a not-for-profit that provides support statewide to thousands of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance abuse challenges. The agency is nationally accredited by The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) and certified by The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services as a Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency (CABHA).
