Monarch Department of Transportation Grant Update

N.C. Department of Transportation Consolidated Capital Projects Application
(5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities)

History:

In the June 24, 2022 Monarch Board of Directors meeting, Board members unanimously voted in favor to seek transportation funding through the North Carolina Department of Transportation Consolidated Capital Projects Application (in conjunction with 5310 Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program) for FY2024. This funding supports transportation to and from Monarch Day Programs for 72 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in five rural counties. The projects totaled $307,259. Monarch’s Board originally approved a funding request for Federal support (90%) was $276,533 with Monarch making a required 10% match of $30,726.

Revision:

Monarch has since learned that funding should be allocated as 80% Federal support and 10% State support, with Monarch making a 10% required match. The projects still total $307,259. Therefore, Monarch’s FY24 funding request will be $245,806 in Federal support (80%) and $30,724 in State support (10%), with Monarch making a required 10% match of $30,730.
