Genoa opens third pharmacy at Monarch

Monarch now offers convenient pharmacy services in its Winston-Salem behavioral health office

Genoa, a QoL Healthcare Company, announced today the grand opening event of their 305th full-service, on-site pharmacy. The new site, which is located in Monarch’s Winston-Salem behavioral health office, is the company’s third pharmacy located within Monarch’s behavioral health offices and their seventh total pharmacy in North Carolina. Genoa also operates pharmacies in Monarch’s Charlotte and Greensboro offices.

“We are pleased to partner with Genoa to offer convenient pharmacy services to the people we support,” said Chris Thompson, Monarch’s Senior Vice President of Operations-Behavioral Health. “Having this experienced, professional, full-service pharmacy on-site enhances our capacity to offer easy access to comprehensive care, which is a top priority for Monarch.”

Genoa shared they are the most experienced pharmacy provider specializing in the behavioral health community. Genoa is improving consumer care and saving centers time and money throughout the country, making a positive impact in the centers they work with and in the lives of the consumers they serve. The company currently operates more than 300 pharmacies in 40 states and the District of Columbia, serving 500,000 consumers annually.

Consumers benefit from the interaction they have with the pharmacist; the organization eliminates inefficiencies by directing pharmacy functions back into the pharmacy and has more control over how medications are handled.

Nationwide in size, hometown in feel

Although Genoa is a nationwide company, they have retained the feel of the hometown pharmacy and the services that go along with it. Being on-site allows their pharmacists and technicians to work closely with prescribers, nurses, and caseworkers, to provide the best possible care for each individual consumer. While they specialize in behavioral health, they have the capacity to fill all medications and are able to bill Medicaid and Medicare, as well as private insurances. Genoa offers several packaging options to fit the needs of the consumers.
