Fiskars helps Monarch garden continue to grow
As a leader in the lawn and garden industry, Fiskars believes in contributing to community gardening and the healthy, sustainable living it provides. Project Fiskars awards cash, garden tools and materials given to help support SIS and the other community garden goals across North America. Monarch also received Project Orange Thumb T-shirts and signs that are being displayed in the new growing space. The M.A.G.I.C.A.L. initiative in Albemarle is one of three Monarch community gardens.
Monarch provides support statewide to thousands of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance abuse challenges from more than 50 North Carolina counties. The agency is nationally accredited by The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) and is CABHA certified. Monarch, which operates The Arc of Stanly County, is an affiliate chapter of The Arc of North Carolina and The Arc of the United States.
