“Monarch Under the Stars” Arts & Music Event Series Beginning April 8
Monarch’s Creative Arts and Community Center (MCACC), 1662 Richards Street in Southern Pines, will host a series of three outdoor events this spring called “Monarch Under the Stars.” The events will feature live music from local musicians and art classes taught by Monarch instructors and community artists featuring glass art, pottery and painting. Food trucks, free Starbucks coffee and other fun activities will also be part of each evening.
“The events are an opportunity for us to invite the community to see what makes MCACC so special,” said Bob Huber, community engagement team leader. “We’ll showcase the work of our MCACC artists during each event and invite the public to join as well.”
The events will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the following Friday evenings: April 8, May 13 and June 10. The events are free and open to the public, and activities will be moved indoors in the case of inclement weather. There will be a $20 charge for adults for art classes to cover the cost of supplies and classes free for children.
Promotion of the events in the Southern Pines area is underway and artwork for the event flyers and postcards was created by MCACC artist Josh Galbicsek. For more information, please contact Bob Huber at Bob.Huber@MonarchNC.org.
