Respite Services are provided for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the NC Innovations Waiver or through b3 Medicaid support. They must be provided in conjunction with another community-based service.
Respite services provide periodic or scheduled support and relief to a caregiver(s). Respite may be used during school/day program hours for sickness or injury. This service may include in and out-of-home services and can include overnights, weekend or care in case of a family/caregiver emergency.
