“We envision the garden to ultimately be a demonstration garden and offer educational components” adds Bress. The harvested produce will be used to enhance the daily living skills by stressing healthy preparation in the kitchen, the nutritional benefits of these to augment a healthy diet, lifestyle and increased physical activity. The group plans to focus on the entrepreneurial aspects with sales to the public and offering excess produce to soup kitchens operated by various charitable organizations once the gardens start producing.
