Charlotte Clubhouse has officially joined Monarch Healthcare, one of North Carolina’s largest providers of behavioral health and human services, through an auspice agreement and will reopen this fall at a new location.
By affiliating with Monarch Healthcare, we are securing the operational support needed to build a sustainable future while preserving the unique Clubhouse culture and community that members value so deeply.
About Charlotte Clubhouse
Founded in 2022, Charlotte Clubhouse follows the globally recognized Clubhouse International model — a welcoming, supportive, community based approach that helps adults living with mental illness rebuild purpose, connection and independence. In 2026, Charlotte Clubhouse affiliated with Monarch, which serves as its auspice organization providing clinical and operational support to ensure Charlotte Clubhouse’s success.
At the Clubhouse, members and staff work side by side to run daily operations, share meals, learn new skills, and support one another. This collaborative environment empowers members to take an active role in their own recovery through meaningful work, education, and social interaction.
Rooted in more than 50 years of evidence based standards established by Clubhouse International and implemented in over 350 Clubhouses worldwide, this model complements traditional psychiatric and medical care by fostering belonging, purpose, and hope.

Membership Information
Members of Charlotte Clubhouse, like many individuals living with mental illness, face several challenges in the community. including stigma and discrimination, limited access to healthcare and support and limited connection to employment and education.
Charlotte Clubhouse aims to address these challenges by providing a supportive environment where members can develop skills, build social connections, and access resources to improve their quality of life and integration into the community.
Charlotte Clubhouse is organized around its members. And the people who come and participate are its members. Membership in the clubhouse is open to anyone who has a history of mental illness. The idea of membership is an important one. Being part of an organization means that an individual has both shared ownership as well as shared responsibility for the success of the Charlotte Clubhouse as an organization.
