See How Our Garden Has Grown!
Celebrating the One-Year Anniversary of the Michael Jonathan McCrann Sensory Garden
Friday, May 16 | 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Monarch Creative Arts and Community Center (MCACC)
1662 Richards St., Southern Pines, NC
Join Monarch and the people we support as we celebrate one year of growth, creativity and community at the Michael Jonathan McCrann Sensory Garden.
This special anniversary event will feature light refreshments, including warm biscuits and an opportunity to stroll through the garden to see how it has bloomed since its dedication last year. Guests are also invited to visit MCACC’s Art Gallery to enjoy artwork created by individuals supported through our program.
The Sensory Garden was created to provide people with intellectual and developmental disabilities — and the broader community — a calming, engaging outdoor space. With its unique kinetic sculpture, art installations, and a variety of plants and trees, the garden offers year-round sensory experiences that promote relaxation, curiosity and connection.
The garden is named in honor of Michael Jonathan McCrann, a long-time Monarch Board Member and passionate advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. His legacy lives on through this space, made possible by the generosity of Monarch families, friends and supporters.
We hope you’re able to join us!
